BC’s Teachers’ Pension Plan does not subsidize extended health care or dental premiums. You are free to choose the default Green Shield plan or another health insurance or dental plan.
Coverage can change at any time, and your premiums, subsidies and deductibles could increase, decrease or be eliminated. Currently there is a $200 deductible with Green Shield.
The Green Shield premiums you pay for retirement health coverage are automatically deducted from your monthly pension payment or you pay another health insurance plan directly yourself.
