Important Information During the Canada Post Strike

Contacting Teachers’ Pension Plan, Green Shield, or Johnson Prestige Benefits

As of November 15, 2024, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) is on strike. During this time, no mail will be delivered or processed by Canada Post.

What Does This Mean for Retired Members?

If you receive mail correspondence from the Teachers’ Pension Plan, such as your annual benefit statements, pension payments, or Pension Life, delays will occur. However, you can access all services online during the strike.

  • Set Up Direct Deposit: Avoid delays in receiving your pension payments.
  • Access Documents Online: View your annual benefit statements and read Pension Life through the TPP website.

If you have questions about your pension, call 1-866-876-6677 or visit the Teachers’ Pension Plan website. Ensure you have your ID number, found on your TPP correspondence or T4A slip, to access online services.

What Does This Mean for Green Shield Canada or Johnson Prestige Benefits?

To prevent delays with extended health or dental claims, it’s recommended to:

  • Register for Online Services: Submit claims and view updates online.
  • Set Up Direct Deposit: Receive reimbursements directly to your bank account.

For assistance, contact:

  • Green Shield: 1-888-525-7587
  • Johnson Prestige: 1-866-799-000

Stay informed and take advantage of online services to avoid disruptions during the postal strike.
